Hiring A Patient Injury Attorney

When a patient, let’s say they’re getting into an accident and they’re looking at an attorney, what are some of the things you would tell them about  hiring a personal injury attorney is different than hiring like a tax attorney?

Sure, the biggest difference is that I am not the kind of lawyer who gets paid per hour.

I’m the kind of lawyer who gets paid perhaps. And what I mean by that is you’re not going to pay me a retainer fee. You’re not going to pay me by the hour. I’m never going to ask you for money.

I only ever get paid if I recover money for you. If I win we both get paid. If I lose nothing happens. You don’t owe me any money. There’s no bill to you.

There’s truly no risk to you. I’m what’s called the CONTINGENT FEE LAWYER. I only get paid if I win.

So that’s the biggest advantage I think for any injured person when they’re looking for a lawyer.

Hiring a personal injury lawyer means you’re hiring a contingent fee lawyer.  You’re hiring somebody to basically be a professional negotiator and do battle against insurance companies for you, but you’re not paying for it.

The insurance company who is on the other side, the at-fault driver’s insurance if you’re in a car crash, that insurance company is ultimately the one that pays me because I take a percentage of the total recovery.
